چکیده
We study the low-energy collective excitations and dynamical response functions of weakly coupled random antiferromagnetic spin-1 /2 chains. The interchain coupling leads to Néel order at low temperatures. We use the real-space renormalization-group technique to tackle the intrachain couplings and treat the interchain couplings within the random phase approximation RPA . We show that the system supports collective spin wave excitations, and calculate the spin wave velocity and spectra weight within RPA. Comparisons will be made with inelastic neutron scattering experiments on quasi-one-dimensional disordered spin systems such as doped CuGeO3.

Three-Dimensional Ordering in Weakly Coupled Antiferromagnetic Ladders and Chains
A theoretical description is presented for low-temperature magnetic-field induced threedimensional (3D) ordering transitions in strongly anisotropic quantum antiferromagnets, consisting of weakly coupled antiferromagnetic spin-1/2 chains and ladders. First, effective continuum field theories are derived for the one-dimensional subsystems. Then the Luttinger parameters, which determine the low-t...

Quasi-one-dimensional quantum antiferromagnets formed by a d-dimensional hypercubic lattice of weakly coupled spin-1/2 antiferromagnetic Heisenberg chains are studied by combining exact results in one-dimension and renormalization group analyses of the interchain correlations. It is shown that d-dimensional magnetic long-range order develops at zero-temperature for infinitesimal antiferromagnet...

Static and dynamical properties of weakly coupled antiferromagnetic spin chains are treated using a mean–field approximation for the interchain coupling and exact results for the resulting effective one–dimensional problem. Results for staggered magnetization, Néel temperature and spin wave excitations are in agreement with experiments on KCuF3. The existence of a narrow longitudinal mode is pr...
متن کاملDynamics and transport in random quantum systems governed by strong-randomness fixed points
We present results on the low-frequency dynamical and transport properties of random quantum systems whose low temperature (T), low-energy behavior is controlled by strong-disorder fixed points. We obtain the momentumand frequency-dependent dynamic structure factor in the random singlet ~RS! phases of both spin-1/2 and spin-1 random antiferromagnetic chains, as well as in the random dimer and I...
متن کاملStatics and dynamics of weakly coupled antiferromagnetic spin-2 ladders in a magnetic field
We investigate weakly coupled spin-1/2 ladders in a magnetic field. The work is motivated by recent experiments on the compound (5CH12N2)CuBr4 (BPCB). We use a combination of numerical and analytical methods, in particular, the density-matrix renormalization group (DMRG) technique, to explore the phase diagram and the excitation spectra of such a system. We give detailed results on the temperat...
